Samuel Canales ("we," "us," or "our") operates the MedMiles mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use MedMiles.

1. Information We Collect

When you use MedMiles, we collect:

• Account Information: Email address and name when you create an account.
• Financial Data: Income entries, expense records, mileage logs, meal expenses, and monthly bill amounts that you enter into the app.
• Tax Profile: Filing status and home office details used for tax estimates.
• Device Storage: Receipt photos and document images are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the expense tracking and tax estimation features of the app
• Generate PDF reports for export to your CPA or accountant
• Calculate estimated tax deductions and quarterly payments
• Maintain and improve the app

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. Receipt photos and documents are stored locally on your device only and are not transmitted to our servers.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal or financial data with third parties. Your data is used solely to provide app functionality to you. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Third-Party Services

MedMiles uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase: For secure user authentication and data storage. Your profile information, income, expenses, trip logs, meal records, and account credentials are stored using Supabase cloud infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS and encrypted at rest.
• Apple Sign-In: For account authentication (optional).
• Google Maps Distance Matrix API: When you use the mileage calculator, addresses you enter are sent to Google LLC to calculate driving distances between locations. Google processes this data to return distance results and does not store location data on behalf of MedMiles. Use of the mileage calculator is optional; if you prefer not to send address data to Google, you may choose not to use this feature.

Each service has its own privacy policy governing its use of data.

6. Your Rights

You may:

• Access and export all your data via the app's Export feature
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
• Correct any information by editing it within the app

7. Children's Privacy

MedMiles is not intended for use by individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Tax Disclaimer

MedMiles provides estimated tax calculations for informational purposes only. All figures are estimates and should not be considered tax advice. Consult a qualified CPA or tax professional for tax filing and advice.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
